Gerry Jones

Gerry is a Supervisor, Psychotherapist accredited by BACP and a Tavistock trained Organisational Consultant. She works both in private practice in the Wimborne of Dorset and for the Sexual Trauma and Recovery Service (STARS) as Clinical Lead. She is also the co-director of Trauma Informed Practice Services (TIPS).

Unconscious process at work adds greatly to the stresses inevitable in high performance environments. Her approach is to explore the complex interplay of person and setting and focus on how individual anxiety and doubt are visible in the collective life of teams.

Gerry has worked across sectors including Aviation, Banking, Law, Charitable and Human Services, building teams and developing individuals and processes to support resilience and change.

Her experience of working with sexual trauma and complex PTSD includes Supervision of therapists working with abuse and designing services that best support survivors. She uses Herman’s three stage model to ensure clinical safety whilst helping clients build resilience and move to connection and post-traumatic growth.

Gerry has a particular interest in Attachment Theory and how it influences relationships across the life span.

Her passion is guiding others to fine-tune their repertoire of theory and skills to allow the client to recover and the therapist to develop safe, reflective practice.
