Play 1 – Last Flight Out by Jenny Lockyer
An original one woman show inspired by the life of the record breaking pilot, Amy Johnson. Amy had her ambitions and she flew at them, living her life for adventure and the future of aviation. In 1930, she became the first woman to fly solo to Australia.
We meet Amy in a world of mixed memories, desires, wishes and ambitions and as we find out about her life we can start to see how the pieces fit and the tools Amy used to bring her dreams to reality.
Play 2 – Bastards in the Black Hole by Prospero Theatre
Bastards is the debut play of talented young writer Rebecca Riley, written in the physical ensemble style of Prospero. Ashley, a young performer, almost watches as her ambition and acute stage fright collide. So you’ve shut yourself in a costume cupboard with four mannequins and you can’t breathe. Where do you go from here?
Play 3 – Manifest by Urban Interface
A short expressive work, turning inner feelings into physicality and revealing the performers darker moments and achievements from their lives within a modern arts industry. The piece collaborates contemporary and urban styles as well as each performer’s improvisational movement and spoken word. ‘Manifest’ demonstrates a truthful story focusing on how wellbeing translates in movement and is relatable to those not only within the arts but to all dream-chasers alike.
